On the 26th January, Year 6 students went to Valletta to carry out a part of the practical fieldwork component of Social Studies. Together with their teachers, the children had to investigate and find out facts about important buildings and landmarks in our capital city. Their journey included visits to the ruins of the Royal Theatre, Jean de La Valette square, Auberge de Castille, Upper Barrakka Gardens, St. John's Co-Cathedral and Dun Mikiel Xerri's monument in Independence square.
Last month Ms Clare Azzopardi came to school to read her latest book Is-Sinjura Klaws to the children in Year 3. The children enjoyed listening to Ms Azzopardi read out the story. In addition, they also enjoyed interacting with her by answering and asking questions about the story.

This month our students participated in drums/percussion sessions with Mr Peter Paul Galea of the band Tribali. Since this year the workshops were held in conjunction with Wasteserv, the children were encouraged to create instruments out of recycled materials. During the sessions Mr Peter Paul also discussed with the children various issues about the impact of human activity on the natural environment.
