Għid l-Imwiet 2014
As we start November, the Catholic Community celebrates the lives of those who died. This celebration may become a wonderful opportunity for the school, children and their families to rediscover Maltese and Catholic traditions tied with the celebration of All Souls Day (Għid l-Imwiet), celebrate the lives of so many persons who in some way or another were close to use, as well as educate children how to face the reality of death.
This year (2014) our school will be celebrating l- Għid l-Imwiet through various activities, one of which will be the creation of a memory box. The box will help children to get to know and to celebrate the life of a deceased person who was close to the family. Professor Adrian Gellel (Department of Pastoral Theology, UOM) kindly collaborated with our school to organize this activity and has prepared a pamphlet for students to take home.
The activity will find its conclusion with the presentation of all the students’ memory boxes during Mass to be held at school on Friday, 31st October. This special Mass will be dedicated to the souls of the loved ones represented by the memory boxes.
